Holy Communion

Holy CommunionThe sacrament of First Eucharist or First Holy Communion welcomes children to the Table of the Lord for the first time. This is a sacrament of initiation in which we receive the body and blood of Christ. The Eucharist empowers us to go out to others and the world with the same spirit and mission of Jesus Christ. It is offered to parishioners' children from Year 3 onwards who have celebrated First Reconciliation.

The program takes place in Term Two of the school year.

  1. Essential parent meeting
  2. Combined meeting with both candidates and parents – Saturday prior to enrolment Mass
  3. Three one hour small group home based sessions for both child and parent
  4. 3pm Saturday on the weekend of the sacrament practice and finalising of processes for the sacrament.

Enrolments: Letters are available through St Mary's School and the Church foyer before the end of Term One. Baptism certificate is required with fully completed forms.

Celebrations are held at a Sunday 9am Mass in June.
